I am getting so confident with my sewing that I have been sewing practically everyday last month trying to create a very practical yet gorgeous wardrobe for E. It feels good when I dress E up to go out everyday as now she wears at least one piece of clothing made by me everyday. Best of all E pretends play sewing and she makes dresses and jackets for me and every time I sew something she wants to try it on even before it's finished! Above all sales at fabric stores are such a blessing, but I did go a bit crazy and now I have more fabric than I can manage to stitch given a very active toddler in the house!
I made this pattern myself using a very basic bodice block with an A-line skirt for the dress. The cotton fabric I used, was a bit thin for the style so I have lined the dress with the same fabric used for the top. It does give it a structured look that I intended.
I do love flowers on dresses for little girls but I do want them to look a bit more subtle and elegant. It was very simple to put this flower together. I stitched all the petals individually first and the arranged them together on the dress, hand sew and added a wooden button in the centre.

I love the winter colours on these printed fabrics and the so very animated E posing for mum xx
